Web / UI Designer
I am a Web Designer / Developer with broad experience creating everything from hand coded HTML, WordPress to C# .NET enterprise level SAAS websites.
In addition to my broad technical skill set, I have a strong graphic design background with experience designing websites, email and marketing media.
This living portfolio was created to provide a small sampling of my design style, recent print, email media and examples of PC and mobile device mock-ups used to assist clients in visualizing the final website’s appearance.
You can also take a look under the hood to get a feel of my HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming style.
I’ve uploaded additional WIP code and design projects that can be viewed on CodePen .
Understanding how you present yourself to customers is the beginning of the design process.
For example, your business card.
After leaving Native Rank and during the COVID-19 mandatory Stay At Home mandates.
I freelanced small web design and graphic projects.
NativeRank is a Premier Google Partner web design studio in downtown Denver, Co. NativeRank provides web design, SEO and web marketing consultation services to a wide range of industries.
As a Web Designer, I was responsible for implementing new client WordPress websites using an in-house WP child theme implementing UI Kit and Mustache templates and JSON. These custom coded templates were developed in VS Code Studio. SEO and general content was uploaded into the website’s MySQL database using custom spreadsheets.
The time at NativeRank was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. I was furloughed, brought back, and ultimately laid off due to the available work downturn caused by the pandemic.
After leaving TraceGains, I began training for a group bike ride through China.
Failing to obtain the required travel permits, I became involved in the operations of a new Art Gallery in Louisville, Colorado.
This time away from programming allowed me to refocus on my art and photography as well as garner experience on the business and marketing sides of the art community.
TraceGains is a Supplier Management and Compliance Management web based SaaS service provider for the Food Manufacturing industry.
As a System Development Lead I was tasked with a very wide range of duties and responsibilities beyond the normal R&D programmer lead roles.
My initial project was to develop a new OO infrastructure for the existing website with a secondary objective of converting the current single instance code into a secure highly configurable enterprise level multi-vendor portal service.
ZOLL’s Custom Solutions Group (CSG) is a small group of programmers and QA engineers that develop custom applications that extend and/or integrate 3rd Party vendor software and services with the RescueNET suite of EMS Dispatch / Patient Care Report services.
G.A. Wright was a general marketing and retail sales marketing company.
I was hired to develop a web site to automate data integration between IGT, the leading gaming machine manufacturer in the US, and G. A. Wright’s gaming industry customer’s Player’s Club marketing services.
M2M Was a joint venture between CERN and M2M to provide remote Linux based management devices for the power industry in the US and France.
While at DEC and Compaq I work in a variety of positions starting out as a Level 2 Technical Support engineer for the Windows 95 Launch and working my way up to Operations Manager for the first outsourced helpdesk for General Electric (GE).
I left the management position to take a position in the newly created “Reporting” team. While on the team, I developed web based reporting services and intranet support websites for a multitude of enterprise level help desks.
At that time I also was involved with Compaq’s deployment teams where I worked with the network architects in designing and implementing the helpdesk infrastructures. This position was challenging because it required the ability to work in a wide range of web management/development roles while meeting a variety of short-term deadlines.
During this time, I worked as an outside contractor installing small peer-to-peer networks in small local businesses.
At the same time, I was attempting to start what is now an Application Service Provider (ASP) business providing computer access to a wide array of applications to the local temporary secretarial services.
Arrangements for providing Internet and terminal access to Mesa University’s Computer Science students had also been completed.
Failing to gain sufficient financial backing, I rejoined the job market.
I was initially an Army Reservist in 1985 with a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) as a Combat Medical Specialist (EMT+).
I switched to Active Duty in 1986 and changed my MOS to an intelligence field.
In 1990 I reenlisted and changed my MOS a third time to Military Intelligence Analyst.
